Professional ghost mannequin service for clothing brands, fashion studios and apparel catalogues. Interior and exterior joins, neck joints and hollow man effects giving every garment a clean, 3D shape that shows cut, construction and fit with no distractions.
What is ghost mannequin?
Also called the "invisible mannequin effect" or "hollow man technique", ghost mannequin editing is a post-production process that digitally removes the mannequin from fashion product photos - leaving only the garment, shaped in a natural 3D form as if worn by an invisible model.
The result: professional, consistent product images that show the real fit and shape of your clothing, without the cost of models, the rigidity of flat lay, or the distraction of a visible dummy.
It's the standard for fashion e-commerce - used by brands selling on Amazon, Shopify, ASOS, Zalando, and every major marketplace that requires clean, distraction-free product imagery.
The process - 3 shots become 1 image

We combine the front and back shots, remove the mannequin, reconstruct the collar, sleeve, and hem - delivering a single, seamless image that looks like the garment is floating or worn by an invisible model.

Who it's for
Client feedback
"We are working with Digi5 for more than 15 years now and changing the partner never occurred to us, because there is simply no reason or necessity. For each project, there are dedicated contact persons and team leaders (most of whom have been with the company for many years) and also Ankit an Manoj are always available when needed. Together we have found a solution for every challenge: unusual requirements, short deadlines, large quantities - even during the COVID lockdown, the Digi5 team managed to keep the image retouching running - without compromising on quality. And all this at absolutely fair prices, but not at the expense of the employees. Over the years, we have visited the Digi5 offices several times and have always been able to confirm that social standards are not only met, but significantly exceeded."
"We recently worked with digi5studios for a series of high-profile photo retouching projects, and they absolutely delivered. Their attention to detail, color accuracy, and overall polish elevated our visuals while still maintaining a natural, authentic look. Turnaround times were fast, communication was clear and consistent, and they were able to accommodate last-minute changes without missing a beat. Highly recommend them for anyone who needs top-tier retouching with reliable service."
"Great photoshop work at a competitive price.
like to do my photoshop editing myself but sometimes the volume of images, deadlines or other work requirements mean I am not able to. In such cases I entrust my images to Manoj and the team. They do fantastic quality of work and I never have to go back to them with any issues. They're always very accurate on details, such as small holes in products that I recently submitted which were all carefully cut out. Prices are also competitive and I've never felt that they weren't worth the money they charged."
Common questions
For a standard ghost mannequin, you need a front shot and a back shot of the garment on a mannequin. For more complex composites (hem reconstruction, inner label shots), we'll advise you on exactly what additional angles are needed during briefing. Standard studio lighting and a clean background work perfectly - no special setup required.
We recommend a minimum of 1500px on the longest edge at 72 DPI for web output, or 300 DPI for print. We accept JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and RAW files. Higher resolution originals always produce better final results, especially for detail work around collars and knitwear textures.
Yes - these are two of the most technically demanding garment types and our editors specialise in both. Knitwear requires careful masking to preserve texture without creating a halo effect. Sheer fabrics need the mannequin removed while maintaining the visible layering and transparency. Both are handled within our standard pricing.
We deliver on white background (pure #FFFFFF), transparent background (PNG with alpha channel), light grey (common for Amazon), or any custom HEX colour your brand uses. If you need lifestyle backgrounds placed behind the ghost mannequin image, that's available as an add-on.
Every client gets a dedicated project manager who creates a detailed style guide from your first batch and applies it to every subsequent order. Shadow depth, collar treatment, background shade, shadow softness - all documented and enforced across every image. We've maintained this consistency for clients with 5,000+ SKU catalogues over multiple seasons.
Yes. Our standard turnaround is 24 hours, but we offer 12-hour rush delivery for time-sensitive launches. Rush pricing is applied per batch - contact your project manager or email us with your deadline and we'll confirm availability within the hour.
